Prepare for Career Fairs

  • Watch our online workshop on how to “work” a career fair.Check out these short videos: "The Elevator Pitch" and "Career Fair Success"
  • Get your resume ready- check out our resume basics and sample resumes for arts & sciences, finace, engineering, and grad students!
  • Get a resume review during the Career Center's weekly Drop-ins. Bring a paper copy of your resume to Dowling Hall Library during drop-in hours. First come, first served; No appointment needed.
  • Attend a "Prepare for the Fair" workshop
  • Review proper interview attire for MenWomen, and those beyond the binary. Model your outfit for a friend at least two days ahead. Business or business-casual attire is appropriate, unless you’ve been instructed differently. You may note some career fair or interview attire guidelines portray traditional gender roles: Remember, you are the final judge of what will work for you. Job seekers should dress professionally for the gender they would choose to present at work or in gender-neutral attire. The most important consideration for appropriateness of attire is that clothes be professional, fit well, and be consistent with organizational culture.
