SMFA at Tufts

All SMFA at Tufts students are required to be covered by health insurance (it’s a Massachusetts state law). We offer a student health insurance plan through Consolidated Health Plans (CHP). You must enroll in this plan unless you have comparable coverage from another U.S.-based insurance company.

Please note, you must waive or accept insurance every academic year using the CHP website.

Kenmore-Harvard Vanguard Health Center

As of December 20, 2016, SMFA students will no longer have access to the Simmons Health Center. Instead students will now be able receive their primary care through Atrius Health, at the Kenmore-Harvard Vanguard 133 Brookline Ave location, a full service primary care site.  If you have the SMFA student health insurance you will not be charged a co-pay. If you do not have school insurance you can use the Kenmore-Harvard Vanguard Health Center and pay at the time of your visit or go to another provider who will accept your insurance. Check the website of your insurance company (Blue Cross, for example) to find an approved list of area providers.

Please remember to identify yourself as an SMFA student when you register with the health center on the phone or in person.
