Change Your Preferred First Name

If you use a first name that differs from your legal name, you have the ability to update it in the WhitePages directory through the Registrar's Office. Use the form below to submit your preferred first name, allowing 48 business hours for your request to be processed.

In addition to updating your preferred first name in the WhitePages directory, you also have the ability to update your preferred first name for general communications at Tufts, including your email address and class and grade rosters. Visit the Preferred Name Change webpage for more information.

Please note that an updated preferred name is considered directory information, meaning it will appear on the WhitePages directory and may be available or released to third parties, including parents. If you would prefer to limit the University’s ability to disclose your directory information to third parties without your consent, you may request a Privacy Block.
