Did You Know?

Maureen Kalimba Isimbi

I am Maureen Kalimba Isimbi, a sophomore at Tufts. I major in Human Factors Engineering and minor in Engineering Management. I am Rwandese a.k.a from the heart of Africa. I am the International Community Senator in TCU senate, the treasurer of National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and a Math Tutor.

A lot of amazing things have happened in my life in the past few months. First, I received the NXP STEM Student Achievement Award as second place, on October 25th 2017, for my mobile application “KalimbaEdu” that will be connecting Rwandan primary students to financial donors (Read:http://alltogether.swe.org/2017/10/austin-events-highlight-women-stem/).

Also, I and my friends (Tiffany and Alphonsus) were selected to attend the 2017 Clinton Global Initiative University conference to enhance the development of our organization “Let Her Be” that aims at eliminating female genital mutilation in Osun State, Nigeria.

Exciting enough, I am working on establishing an International Students Career Fair, and a fixed social space for International Students to represent our countries and cultures at Tufts University.
