New Students

Welcome New Students!

The Latino Center sponsors a number of activities to welcome new students to our campus community. These events, which are led by the Latino Peer Leaders (LPLs), are meant to familiarize new students with campus life as well as the city of Boston.  During the first weeks of the fall semester the Latino Center hosts an Open House, a welcome BBQ, a trip to a neighborhood in Boston, and as well as an overnight retreat to Thompson Island.  In addition, each self-identified Latinx student is matched with an LPL.  LPLs help new students acclimate to life as Tufts University student by sharing information about campus resources and opportunities and also facilitate connections to peer and academic networks as well as on campus services.    For more information on programming for first year students please contact the Latino Center Director.
