What do you do as an intern at this organization?

I support the Executive Director (ED) and Marketing Associate with daily business duties and handling administrative responsibilities. I also join the ED at internal and externally organized events to represent and promote the EACC. I engage with EACC members on a daily basis, assisting with inquiries, questions, and concerns. I manage member and prospect database (online and off line); update member profiles. I prepare promotional materials and newsletter and update EACC website and Twitter account daily. I also help with logistics and organizational aspects related to EACC events

What do you enjoy most about your internship?

Since the EACCNY only had two staff members other than myself, I had many important responsibilities and projects. I learned a ton about transatlantic business, trade and investment, and consular activities. I received exposure to an office environment, business meetings, and client-relations.

What do you find challenging?

The organization was slightly short-staffed, which challenged our ability to pursue all the projects we were passionate about. However, the advantage was that I was given a lot of work and also learned to gauge which project ideas are most realistic and realizable.

What advice would you offer to someone who wants to make the most of an internship like yours?

It was crucial to know a lot about European and American politics, economic markets, and history. I advise you to stay updated on trans-Atlantic relations. Be ready and willing to do anything that is asked (even redundant administrative tasks), although most daily tasks are interesting.
