What do you do as an intern at this organization?

I am working at a thermal solar plant that is currently starting up but is not yet producing energy. I spend half my time collecting and organizing documentation to compile the start-up dossier. The rest of the time I spend at the construction site of the plant helping with everyday activities that go on there.

How did you find this internship?

I found it through a referral from a previous employer.

What do you enjoy most about your internship?

I love seeing the things I have studied in real life and developing a much deeper understanding on what I have learned by seeing the theoretical put into action.

What do you find challenging?

At the beginning of the internship I definitely felt a little overwhelmed because there was so much that I had never seen and the plant´s system is very complex, but by asking questions, I was able to slowly gain an understanding of the workings of the plant.

What advice would you offer to someone who wants to make the most of an internship like yours?

What I have learned is to never be afraid to ask a question and that whoever you ask will more than likely be happy to answer. I would also recommend throwing yourself into the internship completely and taking any opportunity to learn something new even if it does not apply to your work at the internship.
