Discussion Groups and Organizations

Tufts is home to a wide variety of LGBT organizations. Undergraduates, graduate students, faculty/staff, and alumni are all represented by different groups. We have support groups, discussion groups, social organizations and outreach teams. Please browse our menu below for more information.

Undergraduate Discussion Groups
Aro/Ace Space

Aro/Ace Space is a space for asexual- and/or aromantic-spectrum (i.e. asexual, aromantic, demisexual, demiromantic, grey-a, bi/pan-romantic, etc.) queer, and questioning individuals. The group will primarily focus on discussion of personal experiences with these shared identities, and these conversations will be facilitated by students who share some of these lived experiences.

Email Sydney and Abby at tuftsaroacespace@gmail.com for more information.

QWAND (Queer Women and Non-Binary Discussion)

Interested in joining a weekly conversation group with other women? The student-led group will determine the discussion each week, but topics that we have discussed so far include being queer at Tufts, coming out, relationships with our parents, bisexuality, racism in the community, and dating. Last year the meetings averaged about 15-20 people, with new people showing up weekly! We have lots of social events including movie screenings, dinners, and just hanging out.

More information for this group will be available soon!

Queer Men's Group

The Queer Men's Group is a social and supportive space that will discuss issues in contemporary queer life at Tufts and beyond. Topics for the week will vary depending on the interest of the group. Above all, queer men's group is meant to be a space where students can explore their identities, connect with others, and build community in an intentional setting. Important: You do not have to identify as a binary queer man to participate in our discussions. We are a trans and non-binary affirming space and we welcome all students who want to be involved in these discussions.

More information for this group will be available soon!

PLUS (Place of Love and United Support) Discuss Students Group

This is a support/discussion group focused on the issues that face bisexual, pansexual, and fluid students here at Tufts and in the larger community. It is a confidential, safe space. Whether coming out to ourselves, our families, the queer community or the world at large, we all have a story to tell.

LOQSOCA: Loving Ourselves as Queer Students of Color in Action

The mission of LOQSOCA (Loving Ourselves as Queer Students of Color in Action) is to provide a space, both physical and communal, where the multi-faceted identities of students who are queer and express all gender identities of COLOR at Tufts University are free from attack. LOQSOCA aims to create a community that values the self-celebration, self-care, affirmation, and love of these individuals, within their own communities and throughout the Tufts community. Beyond toleration — we seek meaningful inclusion, equal opportunity, heightened awareness and enrichment of the QPOC community and safety throughout campus. We aim to be united in supporting the social equality and liberation of queer people of color from oppression and discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and RACE.

Please email Yaasante and Ethan for more information! Ask them about QTPOC Takeover!

Transcend Connection Drop-In

Transcend Connection Drop-In is a space to empower, validate, and support trans and gender nonbinary students.

This group is for trans/gender nonbinary Tufts students ONLY and is facilitated by m. addyson tucker (they/them/their) from Counseling and Mental Health Services (CMHS). If you have questions, please email addyson.
