Program Curriculum

Core Class

In your core class, you will focus on effective communication in English, working to strengthen your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Classes include preparation for the Discover America excursions. You will be grouped in small classes (under 18 students) according to English ability (beginner/intermediate/advanced).

Special Interest Topics Class

In your Special Interest Topics class, you will build confidence and ease with English by focusing on one of a wide variety of topics. Topics are personalized and individualized to meet the interests of each class. Topics are decided upon each year based on student interest. Possible special interest topics in the past have included Current Events, American Idioms and Culture, History, and Culture of Boston, TOEFL Preparation, Innovation and Innovators, and Novel Study.

Tutoring & E-learning Support

Should you need additional support, our program staff can arrange one-on-one office hours or tutoring where you can receive individual feedback to strengthen listening, note-taking, writing, and seminar presentation skills.
