Counseling and Mental Health
Counseling can help address a range of life challenges and difficulties. Counseling Services at SMFA offers free, on-site, confidential mental health care to SMFA students. Services include evaluations, referrals to outpatient providers, short-term counseling, and wellness programming for undergraduate and graduate students.
Make an Appointment with Counseling Mental Health Emergencies
Should you need health services in the Fenway area, go to the Harvard Vanguard website to make an appointment. Tufts has partnered with Harvard Vanguard — Atrius Health to provide care on the SMFA campus. You must call ahead to make an appointment, unless it is a life-threatening emergency. If that is the case, please call 911 or your local emergency access number.
SMFA students who would like to go to Harvard Vanguard must have a Health Insurance card to be seen there. If you have any questions about accessing your card, please go to the health insurance website and check the tab entitled "Electronic ID Cards."
If you are on the Medford campus and need medical attention, go to Health Service at 124 Professors Row and/or call 617-627-3350.
