Mary Patricia McMahon

Mary Patricia McMahon came to Tufts from Bowdoin College in April 2014 where she served as Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Judicial Board Advisor, Dean of First-Year Students and Associate Dean of Student Affairs/ Director of Residential Life. She worked previously at NYU Stern School of Business and Yale University, and she holds a BA from Yale and an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
At Tufts, Dean McMahon supervises the Student Affairs division, which includes the Dean of Student Affairs Office, Residential Life, the Group of Six, Campus Life, Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, Judicial Affairs, and the interdepartmental Common Concern team. She is integrally involved in efforts to foster meaningful growth and connection in the undergraduate and graduate student co-curricular experience. She shares responsibility for addressing concerns around sexual misconduct, alcohol, social justice, diversity and inclusion, civility, leadership development and dynamic engagement within the student community.

Marisel Perez supports students through personal and life challenges. She hopes that through her work she can instill in students a belief that they can strengthen their individual capital and empower themselves to achieve their personal and life goals. Marisel emigrated from Cuba to Chelsea, MA. She has previously worked at Boston University’s Metropolitan College where she led the Office of Student Services, and at the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she started the Office of Student Affairs. Her background and experiences in Cuba and the United States have kindled in her a passion for learning about cultures and people from all parts of the world. Marisel is particularly drawn to the people and the beauty of the Caribbean and has visited nearly every island from Turks and Caicos to Grenada. She lives in Medford with her spouse Gail and her two dogs.

Chris Rossi is the primary point of contact for all first-year students looking to connect with the Dean of Student Affairs Office. Before joining Tufts in 2015, Chris worked at Harvard Business School as the Assistant Director of Academic Operations for HBX, an online platform dedicated to helping disparate student populations build fluency in business concepts. He also worked as the Assistant Director of Residential Life at Bowdoin College. Chris holds an A.B. from Bowdoin College and an M.Ed from Harvard University.

Sexual Misconduct Resource Specialist
Nandi Bynoe has been a staff member at Tufts since 2010, first in the Office of Student Services and more recently in her current role in Student Affairs as the Sexual Misconduct Resource Specialist. In addition to her current role, Nandi has been a pre-major advisor for first year and sophomore students for the past four years. Nandi was a Tufts undergraduate, earning her B.A in 2009 and is currently pursuing a M.A in Educational Studies.
Ty Freeman has been a staff member at Tufts since 2012, first in the Career Center and has been in his role in Student Affairs since 2014. Prior to coming to Tufts, Ty worked at New England Law | Boston as an Administrative Assistant in Faculty Services. Ty holds a Bachelor's from the University of Massachusetts.
