The Position
We are looking for 3 days / week childcare, 8:30-6:30pm (30 hours) starting mid May - end of August for two school aged children. We have applied to camps for our oldest so for 6 weeks so there could be about half the time where you are caring for one child. We can be flexible on days outside of Friday (where we already have childcare) but do request that once a schedule is set for between us we keep it consistent and honor the days/hours. We will have some flexibility on the start/stop date for the right candidate.
There is an option to extend childcare into the school year but the hours would shift to 3 days / week from 2-6:30pm.
We are biased of course, but our kids are fun. Our 4yo is articulate, friendly, smart and charming. He loves playing with trucks and riding his bike. His 7yo brother adores legos and playing soccer. Our oldest is on the sensitive side, so he would benefit from someone who is patient and help him identify and regulate his emotions. Both boys are full of energy so this position would be ideal for someone who likes to be on the move. We would provide a car to use so you could do fun events outside the city this summer and drive to/from camp for our oldest.
We live within walking distance to Porter Square in Cambridge.

7-year-old is very playful and imaginative, and has high energy. We are looking for occasional babysitting for our 1yo and 3yo, primarily on weekends and weeknight evenings. Periodically, when our daytime nanny calls out sick or takes vacation time, we may also ask for weekday support, but that is not a requirement and we welcome candidates with a range of availability.
Our children are joyful and share a love for construction vehicles, garbage trucks, time spent outdoors, and adventures around the neighborhood. That said, almost always, we will be asking for babysitting help once both children are in bed for the night.
Strong candidates are very comfortable caring for infants and toddlers, including soothing them if they unexpectedly wake up upset after a few hours of being asleep. We have a dog and a cat at home, both very friendly, but can keep them in a separate room upon request.

We are in need of an experienced, kind, warm, attentive, and flexible babysitter for occasional afternoons and evenings, perhaps 1-3x per month. You would be caring for two highly energetic, fun-loving, and friendly kids ages 5 and 7.
Evening shifts might be on a Tuesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. (We have a specific need upcoming on Sunday, March 10). A typical shift would entail:
-Arrive at around 5pm
-Prepare and serve a simple dinner (warm up something pre-made, no major cooking skills required)
-Help the children clean up after the meal
-Play games or watch a movie until bedtime (there's a private fenced back yard)
-Help them get ready for and tucked into bed
-They would *hopefully* be asleep by 8:30 or 9, in which case you would be free to chill out until we return 10 or 11pm.
Another possibility is a shorter afternoon shift with only one of the children. We would need you to:
-Pick the kid up at either school (3pm) or the bus stop (2:50pm) and bring them home or to the park. It's walking distance, so there's no driving required.
-Serve an afternoon snack
-Play with them for 1-2 hours until Mom gets home (Dad would be working from home in a closed office)
Pay is $25/hr for 2 kids or $20/hr for 1
We have a boisterous 60lb dog that will follow you and the kids all around.
We are most interested to hear from people who plan to be in the area over the summer and would continue to be available for occasional babysitting.
