Pronouns: He/Him/His
Chris joined Tufts University in 2023 to serve as the Director of the FIRST Resource Center. Chris holds a Master’s Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Vermont and a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies and concentration in Africana Studies from the College of the Holy Cross.
Prior to coming to Tufts, Chris served as the Director for Student Inclusion and Belonging at the College of the Holy Cross. His role included supporting historically underrepresented students, implementing strategies to ensure the success and retention of all students, and advancing pedagogical and curricular initiatives that foster inclusion and effectively address issues of power, privilege, and equity.
Chris is excited to work collaboratively with students and all campus constituents to enhance campus climate while implementing data-driven programs and initiatives focused on the elimination of student achievement gaps and barriers associated with creating a sense of inclusion and belonging among first-gen, low-income, and students with undocumented status.
As a proud Black, Jamaican, queer, and first-generation college graduate, he is passionate about supporting historically underrepresented students by providing a place for community building and resources to navigate institutional structures. Rooted in the framework of intersectionality, Chris always strives to create spaces where students can celebrate their identities. Outside of work, Chris enjoys traveling and finding speakeasies with his husband, running, and keeping up with the political drama in DC.
Chris is excited to welcome you all to the FIRST Resource Center. Please stop by to connect with staff and your peers.
