Accelerated Master’s Programs

Start your master's degree while you are an undergraduate.

As a Tufts undergraduate, you may get a head-start on a master's degree and potentially finish both your bachelor’s degree and master’s degree within five years.

The accelerated master’s degree programs across Tufts University offer significant savings in time, tuition dollars, and application fees to Tufts undergraduates. If you are accepted into an accelerated or combined master’s degree program, you may begin to take graduate courses toward your master’s degree while paying undergraduate tuition and using your undergraduate financial aid package. Some programs offer additional financial aid benefits for Tufts undergraduates.

How It Works

Sophomore YearBegin to explore options. Take undergraduate courses in the field.
Junior YearApply. Take pre-requisite undergraduate courses for future master’s degree.
Senior YearEnroll in approximately 4 graduate-level courses alongside your remaining undergraduate courses. Two of those courses may be applied toward both degrees and some graduate-level courses may be reserved for master’s degree. Submit any required forms to share or reserve courses. Complete your Bachelor’s Degree and celebrate Commencement with your senior class.”
Fifth YearComplete your graduate studies. Most accelerated master’s programs can be completed after 1 year of residency as a full-time graduate student. A few of the programs require six years but you may reduce your graduate courseload by accelerating your studies. Complete your Master’s Degree and celebrate Tufts Commencement (again)!
