Tufts ROTC Support Program
The Tufts ROTC program trains students to become commissioned officers in the Army, Air Force, and Navy through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Through a combination of a traditional college curriculum and specialized leadership training, students can take advantage of unique opportunities that prepare them for success in any career path.

Students in the ROTC program at Tufts receive academic advising through the advising teams and structures present in each school (Arts & Sciences, Engineering, SMFA). ROTC students are further supported by the ROTC advising team and their commanding officer. The ROTC advising team coordinates and administers policies and privileges that support students participating in the ROTC program.

The ROTC advising team provides advice and support for students currently enrolled at Tufts. Shown below is a list of topics that we routinely help students navigate. Prospective students should contact Admissions to learn more about ROTC at Tufts.
- ROTC community events and resources for event planning
- Arrangements for student transportation for ROTC responsibilities
- Approval for early move-in to student housing
- Priority registration for courses
- Increased semester credit limit (21 credits) for Navy ROTC students due to curricular demands
- Coordination with Athletics for use of the varsity weight room
- Assistance with mapping approved MIT courses to Tufts credits
- Obtaining a red, white and blue graduation cord to proudly wear at their Commencement exercises.
