BFA and Combined Degree students are supported by the SMFA Advising Team. Once Combined Degree students declare their major for the BA/BS portion of their program, they are also supported by a faculty major advisor.

Leah Gadd
Associate Dean Academic Advising & Undergraduate Study, SMFA
Dean Gadd oversees the academic progress of SMFA undergraduate students (both for the BFA program and the BFA portion of the Combined Degree). In addition, she works with various committees developing policy and advising on curricular matters.
Tobias Bennett
Senior Academic Advisor
Tobias supports SMFA students' engagement with the curriculum and provides guidance on academic and intellectual direction, interpretation of university policies and procedures, and access to resources on both campuses. As the on-site liaison for Student Accessibility Services, he also works one-on-one with all SMFA students to implement accommodations.
Stephanie Lam
Senior Academic Advisor
Stephanie supports SMFA students by advising them on program requirements and course selection, guiding their academic progress, helping them navigate university policies and procedures, and connecting them to campus resources. She is committed to helping students grow as artists and individuals.
