Orientation includes arrival/move-in, as well as many critical programs that will introduce you to your new home at Tufts University. Tufts also offers eight optional Pre-Orientation programs, which take place prior to Undergraduate Orientation. 

Please check back as information regarding Move-In and Orientation will be added.

Pre-Orientation Move-In will be Friday, August 22. Move-In for new students not participating in Pre-Orientation will be Wednesday, August 27. Orientation for all new students begins on August 27 as well. 

The Matriculation Ceremony, which officially welcomes incoming students to Tufts University, will take place on Thursday, August 28. Parents and families are welcome to attend the ceremony; it will also be livestreamed.

New Student Checklist

The New Student Checklist will guide students through the summer and detail out several requirements they must complete prior to arrival. In addition, over the summer incoming students may access a full listing of academic requirements and information sessions through Academic Essentials on Canvas which will conclude with choosing fall courses towards the end of August, prior to arrival. 

The Undergraduate Orientation team will be in regular contact with new students and families throughout the summer in preparation for Fall 2025. If you have questions, please contact orientation@tufts.edu.

Orientation Programming for Parents and Families

Informational Webinars for New Students and Families

Incoming students and their parents and families are welcome to join us for a variety of informational webinars this summer. These programs will be hosted virtually via Zoom. The schedule and registration information will be posted on a rolling basis. All webinars will be recorded and posted in the archive below for later viewing.

Thursday, May 22, 7 p.m. ET – Members of the Student Accessibility and Academic Resource (StAAR) Center team and the Residential Life and Learning team will review everything you need to know about on-campus housing and accommodations. Register for the housing and accommodations webinar and submit any questions in advance.

Tuesday, June 3, 7 p.m. ET – Meet the Orientation and Student Life teams and learn about the New Student Checklist. The checklist will guide you through a variety of required or suggested steps to complete over the summer. Please note that this meeting is intended only for students. Register for the New Student Checklist webinar and submit any questions in advance.

Wednesday, June 4, 7 p.m. ET – Welcome new parents and families! The Orientation and Student Life teams will review steps your students must take over the summer to prepare for their fall arrival. We will also offer tips on how you can best support your student's transition to college. Register for the parents and families webinar and submit any questions in advance.

Welcome to Your Academic Experience webinar with the Advising Dean and Senior Academic Advisors for your degree program. Register for your degree program's welcome webinar at the links below and submit any questions in advance. Parents and families are welcome! 

Wednesday, June 18, 9 a.m. ET –  Meet the International Center team who will provide important information for incoming international students and their parents and families. Register for the Introduction to the International Center webinar and submit any questions in advance.
