Cultural Curriculum
Living a Language in Order to Learn a Language Online
At Tufts, we believe the best way to learn a language and understand a culture is to live in it. But being online makes this a bit more difficult. Tufts continues to create online opportunities for students who commit to the program to explore many co-curricular virtual activities including 360 video tours, scavenger hunts, a great selection of movies, weekend cultural discussions with academic support specialists, and much more. What follows is a sampling of information about Tufts, the surrounding area, cultural videos that have been developed by the faculty and staff, and clips of portfolio projects that were created by the students. But first, please start off with a virtual tour of Tufts University.
Exploring Off-Campus
Home to over 50 colleges and universities, the Greater Boston Area is an exciting place to be a student. Whether you’re interested in arts and culture, sporting events, or cutting edge science, there’s something for everyone. We encourage you to take time to explore the area!
Our campus is a quick walk to Davis Square in Somerville - a vibrant community with delicious restaurants, a movie theater, and more.
The City of Cambridge is a quick subway or bus ride from Tufts and offers lots of opportunities for education and fun.
From Davis Square, you can also take a quick subway ride into the city of Boston where you’ll find restaurants, museums, sporting events, and more. There are many free activities available, as well as places that offer discounted prices for students.
