Courageous Conversations
Being in college during a presidential election is a special experience. Capitalize on that now by joining our Courageous Conversations series!
In the U.S., political discussions are often polarized and difficult—but they don’t have to be! Having courageous conversations with people who have all variety of ideas is the antidote to polarization and echo-chambers.
What
- One hour discussion per week with a small group of open-minded peers
- Discussions will be facilitated by the Dean of Students Office team
- Conversations and workshops will be structured in a format that allows everyone to participate, learn, and be in community
Goals
- Learn from the perspectives of others; deepen the complexity of your own ideas by considering a spectrum of ideas on a given topic
- Master the skill of interacting positively with people even when you disagree, which will be useful in your civic life, your career, and your time at Tufts
Timeline
- Applications due January 13.
- Sessions begin the week of January 20.
Application
- Open to all undergraduate and graduate students in AS&E
- Students from all political persuasions are welcome!
- No prior political experience necessary. It’s ok if you aren’t sure what you think about some issues or don’t feel super informed about politics.
