Emily Quigley (she/they)
Assistant Director of Campus Life - Outdoor Education Programs
My role is to provide guidance, oversight, and support to the outdoor programs at Tufts: Tufts Wilderness Orientation, Tufts Mountain Club, and the Tufts Loj - a Tufts-owned property in Woodstock, NH. I believe that outdoor programs provide co-constructed spaces for students to exist in community together, practicing trust, care, and responsibility in relation to each other while learning valuable tools of leadership and risk management. Outdoor experiences allow students to be better leaders, community-builders, and learners back on campus and in the world. I work with TWO and TMC to build safe, welcoming environments that support students throughout their time at Tufts.
I have been at Tufts since March 2021, and I am also a Tufts alum from the class of 2015. I hold a Master's in Education from Harvard University and I am a certified NOLS Field Instructor. Come by anytime to chat about outdoor programming, dogs, queering the US education system, why we are in the golden age of TV, or anything else!
I have been at Tufts since 2019. I am in charge of the central operations of the Campus Life Office and serve as the first friendly welcome into the office. My job includes supporting all Campus Life administrative staff as well as supporting the Campus Life student employees, including direct supervision of the Office Assistants. A large part of my job is coordinating the student organization Event Registration process. I am in regular communication with student organization representatives about their event planning needs and reservation questions. I also manage the Vendor/Tabling program that occurs in the Campus Center lobby. You can find me at the front of the Campus Life office.
