Apply For Aid: 2025-2026 Overview
Please Note: If you apply to Tufts and do not apply for financial aid, you will not be eligible for institutional aid in subsequent years. If your family experiences an unanticipated change in financial circumstances, you may submit an aid application for review. In some cases, limited funds may be available.
Students who were admitted to Tufts and deferred their start to take a gap year should follow the instructions for a Regular Decision applicant when they apply for aid for their first year.
Financial aid documents submitted to Tufts are uploaded to our systems about three business days after Tufts receives your Common Application. We are unable to see submitted documents until the Common Application is received.

Undocumented Student Applicants (with or without DACA status)
Undocumented student applicants (with or without DACA status) should follow the same financial aid application procedures based on whether they plan to apply Early or Regular Decision. However, a FAFSA is not required.
Because federal financial aid is not available for undocumented students, Tufts provides institutional financial aid in its place.
Applicants with DACA can submit a FAFSA to receive a FAFSA Submission Summary if desired. However, this is not necessary for Tufts financial aid. Please visit Admissions for more details, and answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the Financial Aid application process for Undocumented student applicants.
If you need assistance or have questions regarding the application process or procedures, please contact Student Services by phone at 617-627-2000 or send an email to studentservices@tufts.edu.

International Applicants: Prospective Undergraduate Students
Below are the deadlines, required documents, and submission instructions for prospective international students applying for financial aid.
Please log in to your Admissions account to view your personalized list of required documents and track the items that have been received.
In light of Tufts' commitment to maintain an international community, the University makes available a small amount of funding for talented international students. Because of the limited financial aid funding available, Tufts can offer admission to only a very small number of International applicants each year.
Because aid funding is very limited, families who have the ability to fund the entire educational expenses should not apply for financial aid. Competition among this segment of the applicant pool is keen. International financial aid is based on need. Awards will consist of grants and possible eligibility for an on-campus job.
If you are an International student enrolling at Tufts without financial aid as a first-year student, you are not normally eligible for aid in subsequent years at Tufts. An exception may be made if you have completed at least two years at Tufts and your family experiences an unanticipated change in financial circumstances. In these cases, limited funds may be available, and you may apply for an emergency grant or loans. You can find other information on the International Center website.
