LRAP Application Process
How to Apply
Please use the Electronic Application to submit your LRAP application and all required documents by the December 1st due date.
Federal Loans Currently in Forbearance: Please note that any federal loan that has been placed into forbearance by a borrower's loan servicer, or the Department of Education, are still eligible for the Tufts LRAP. This status is known as administrative forbearance and loans with this status will still be eligible for assistance. Only loans that have been placed in forbearance at the request of the borrower are ineligible for the Tufts LRAP. Applicants must still supply a monthly loan statement, loan summary, or loan details from your loan servicer for any loan currently in forbearance that shows the remaining principal balance. Send any questions concerning this issue to lrap@tufts.edu.
The LRAP Application window opens on September 1st each year.
If your application submission cannot be completed electronically, please use these other methods of delivery:
- Email: lrap@tufts.edu (Preferred)
- Fax: 617-627-3987, Attn: LRAP
- Mail: LRAP, Tufts University, Dowling Hall - 760B, 419 Boston Avenue, Medford, MA 02155
The LRAP application and all of the following required documentation should be submitted by the Application Due Date.
Here is what you need:
- Completed Application: Electronic or PDF
- Current Resume
- Recent Paystub
- Current copies of all qualified student loan statements or loan details. All student loan documents must include your name, amount borrowed, current balance, monthly payment details, and current loan status. LRAP does not consider loans incurred from other universities. Loans must be in Repayment (or the post-graduate Grace Period) in order to be eligible for LRAP consideration.
- LRAP Employment Certification Form. Your employer may submit the Employment Certification Form directly to the LRAP Office from their employee email address; or it can be submitted by you as long as your employer has not signed the form using a generic typed signature that lacks authentication.
It is preferred that you submit your completed application and all the required documentation at one time. Multiple submission deliveries slow the verification process.
Please note: LRAP uses email as its primary form of communication with applicants. Please provide a current and valid email address to ensure notification delivery and timely correspondence. However, award checks are mailed, so please use a current and valid address on your application to ensure check delivery.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your application and required documentation is submitted to the LRAP office by the deadline. Please submit your application early to avoid delays in processing.
If you have any questions about the program, contact the LRAP Administrator before the application deadline date. Late submissions will not be accepted.
